I was recording some cloth foley when, all of a sudden, a sickening burp emerged straight into the microphone. I think you could also use this sound as part of someone puking. Recorded with an akg c414 in hyper-cardioid mode through a scarlett 6i6 into pro tools 10. If you use this sound let me know as i'm curious to see what kind of uses it has.

A simple recording of a metal drawer. Recorded with zoom h4n + sontronics stc-10 pencil condensors. This was recorded in my room so unfortunately the signal to ambient noise ratio isn't great, i think it's just passable though. Looking at the spectrogram waveform display of https://freesound. Org/people/ivolipa/sounds/344948/ i noticed a few patterns. Distinct bands of high volume at around ~600hz, ~1200hz, ~1800hz, the fade in volume toward higher frequencies, a ubiquitous noise, and the soft staccato rhythm. Using these facts, i tried to make yet another engine sound with fm-synthesis. Sound forge 7 — to my knowledge — lacking a spectrogram, i've no clue if this was a successful attempt, but it does have a vaguely engine-like sound.

The sound of me closing a door in my apartment. Smooth hinges with no creaking. You can hear the springy latching mechanism when it shuts completely. One of 15 takes; there are also 15 takes of opening this same door.

This is a whole lot of longsword-on-longsword sounds. I was specifically trying to get nice sounds for "winding", when two swords are pushed back and forth and around each other as opponents look for an opening. There are also some "binding" sounds, when the two swords first clash. Some of these binding noises did peak the mic. None of these binding noises were the swords hitting at full force - they are all weaker binds. Pick and choose the noises you like to build your sword fight foley.

This is a raw recording of a plastic shower curtain. The motions vary from grabbing to touching and, pulling. I recorded this with my smartphone as i needed to dub it into a film that i was designing. I manipulated part of the raw recording, and it sounds awesome in the mix. I made this using two oscillators in native instrument's fm8 synth. There is nothing too fancy, just two sine waves played out the same output, but one has an offset of 440hz, and the second oscillator has an offset of 330hz. I then just played two notes that didn't sound too dissonant, and then ran it through some low-fi processing.

My swiss army knife of sounds: i recorded myself falling over a plastic stool for an episode of our comedy podcast, mission: rejected. It was supposed to be a one-time sound, where a clumsy analyst named stuart gilligan trips while getting out of his chair. I've used this sound two dozen times since, for fights, trips, tearing pictures off walls, throwing people out of windows, and plenty of others. I can't explain why this sound amuses me so much, but i hope others can find use and amusement in it as well.

Faucet in a metal sink turned on and off. Hands are run through the water to simulate hand washing. Recorded in a tokyo apartment with a coincidental mic pair placed at a 90 degree angles it's basically a raw recording, but i ran an ssl hpf with the cutoff set at about 28 hz to take out the rumble of the train passing by. . . Since the apartment was near the station, the train sound was unavoidable. But if this is used in a larger mix, it probably won't be noticeable.

A recording of anything i could do with two empty 1,5 l plastic bottles. A lot of sounds you can squeeze from a plastic bottles. Just no sounds of opening and closing a s i didn't have the caps. Recorded with a zoom h2, rear mics. The recording was done in a small room with a thinc carpet, there is soem natural short reverb but not too bad. Very little background noise. Converted to flac using audacity.

This was recorded as foley for a sound design / composition contract i took for a theatre company. We needed a train sound to signify crates of dead soldiers being shipped back from the front lines, to be processed and fed to soldiers holding encampants behind the lines. It was recorded in an arcade adjoining outbuildings of a factory converted to studio and office spaces. I excused myself from rehearsal to catch the recording shortly after learning a woman i'd been seeing for about a year was through with our relationship. I won an award in composition and sound design for the work i did for the play.

Realised to my dismay that this sound was not available. A card tapping and scraping on a ceramic plate. Designed to imitate the noise of cocaine being cut up. Recorded on a tascam dr-40 in a 4m square kitchen. Tea towel was placed under the plate to cut out an excessive noise from the plate itself. Recorded with a low frequency cut off at 80hz.
